COACH DEVELOPMENT

1:1 Coaching for Sport Coaches

Become the next best version of yourself with a thinking partner who understands your coaching world.

You already know the technical side of coaching. What you want now is deeper clarity, stronger relationships, better decision-making, and more intentional leadership.

That’s where 1:1 coaching comes in. It’s a personalized partnership rooted in curiosity, challenge, reflection, and real-world context — the quickest way to create meaningful, sustainable growth in your coaching.

If you care deeply about your athletes’ well-being, you’re in the right place.

Many of the coaches I work with come to me because they want to strengthen their relationships with athletes, communicate more effectively, and build trust in ways that feel authentic.

They’re also coaches who feel stuck in old habits or patterns and want a clearer, more intentional approach; one that reflects who they are and who they want to become.

You might be tired of reacting under pressure and craving more grounded, confident decision-making. You may be naturally curious, open, reflective, and ready to stretch yourself. You’re not looking for more drills or scripts, instead, you want support with the human side of coaching.

Many coaches also find themselves here because they’ve never worked with a coach developer before – or didn’t even know coach developers existed. Others have tried workshops, books, courses, or peer conversations and still aren’t seeing the change they hoped for.

If that sounds familiar, 1:1 coaching offers what those experiences simply can’t: immediate, contextualized feedback inside your real coaching environment.

What we work on together

Every coach comes in with different questions, but here are some of the most common themes:

Understanding your habits, patterns, and blind spots

The fastest route to growth is learning how you think. We dig into your decision-making, communication, and the assumptions behind them.

Strengthening coach–athlete connections

Many coaches give so much of their energy… without seeing the relational impact they want. Together, we focus on building trust, clarity, connection, and meaningful communication.

Balancing performance and well-being

Your athletes matter as humans. So do you. We look at how to support performance without sacrificing emotional or psychological needs.

Reflective practice that accelerates your growth

Thinking about your thinking is the #1 pathway to faster, deeper learning. I guide you through reflective frameworks that help you see more, understand more, and integrate more.

Handling tough conversations with people

With athletes, parents, assistant coaches, and administrators. I help you navigate these moments with more confidence, clarity, and solid anchoring.

Becoming the “next best version” of yourself

My goal isn’t to turn you into a different coach. It’s to help you grow into the coach you want to be while being aligned with your values, your voice, and your vision.

How 1:1 coaching works

I take a curious, collaborative, learning-focused approach with my clients.

1. We start with your real context
We’ll look at practice video, game clips, conversations (with athletes, parents, staff), written reflections, scenarios you’re navigating, anything else from your real life.

2. I observe, listen, and reflect with you
You get immediate feedback – on language, decisions, timing, tone, interactions, planning, relational cues – everything happening below the surface.

3. We make sense of what happened
Using my 4P+R lens (Planning, Performance, People, Personal Well-Being, Reflection), we explore: why something worked (or didn’t), what patterns are emerging, and what aligns (or doesn’t) with your values.

4. We co-design your next steps
We build habits, approaches, questions, and cues that fit your coaching style, not someone else’s. Then we test, refine, and integrate them into your daily practice.

  • “Beth’s ability to see through the forest of material and keep us focused on the essential outcomes has helped us to design more effective course plans and train better coaches and coach educators.” – Scott Harland, Rugby Americas North Regional Training Manager
  • “Beth consistently elevated my own personal growth as a coach. She recommended literature that broadened my knowledge and deepened my understanding of key concepts, and she paired those insights with thoughtful feedback grounded in real‑world examples. She didn’t hesitate to challenge my next steps in a constructive way, pushing me to think more critically and strategically. Her influence played a meaningful role in strengthening our team culture and driving our development forward..” – Jean-Paul Circelli, Head Coach, University of Windsor Lancers Football
  • “Beth is a valued based coach and people first leader. She cares deeply about the goals of the people she works with and helps them find ways that work for them to attain and achieve their aims.” – Jocelyn Barrieau, Head Coach, Canadian Women’s 7s Rugby Team

Is 1:1 coaching the right fit for you?

You’ll get the most out of this work if you are:

  • Open to reflection
  • Curious about your own thinking
  • Willing to be challenged (gently but honestly)
  • Excited about becoming the next best version of yourself

This might not be the right fit if you:

  • Only want drills, tactics, or “what to say to the team” scripts
  • Aren’t willing to examine your own habits and blind spots
  • Don’t want someone observing your real context
  • Want a quick fix or short-term solution

Let’s talk about what’s been challenging you, what’s working, and where you want to grow next.

FAQ

Each package includes personalized observation and feedback, reflective practice sessions, clip sharing for real-time insights, support between sessions, practical values-aligned strategies, and coach-centered sense-making conversations. The Performance Partner option also includes sense-making conversations for coaches, with others in the program or if they are connected to a Community of Practice or other coaching cohort.

Support time includes text/email replies, voice-note coaching, and the regular 3-question check-in responses. It also includes short follow-ups that help apply a plan in real time. It does not include building full practice plans, creating long written reports, or extended back-and-forth beyond the monthly support cap.

Clips can be practice, game, team talk, or staff moments. Coaches can upload a short clip and/or share a link. Feedback is provided as notes, a short voice message, and talking points to bring into the next session. Clip review time is included up to the package cap.

No. Coaches can choose video uploads, audio clips, or a quick recap of key moments. Video or phone sessions work either way.

Additional support is available at approximately $90 CAD per hour, or it can be added as an agreed-upon top-up for that month.

Rescheduling is simple. Sessions can be moved within the 6-month window when adequate notice is given. If a sessions is missed, the plan is adjusted to protect momentum and clarity. If sessions are missed repeatedly, the plan may be truncated. I know coaches get busy and sometimes ignore messages; however, you are investing in yourself and the best thing you can do is to put on your own oxygen mask first during our time working together.

Yes. If coaching is happening alongside a Community of Practice or a cohort doing 1:1 concurrently, sense-making conversations can link insights back to shared themes, without breaking confidentiality.

It can also connect with other coaches in the program so you get the opportunity to expand your coaching network while also picking up some helpful ideas and further learning.

We start with a short intake and goal-setting conversation, then book the first session and agree on what connection method fits best.
